When you are in Fort Augustus you must stop by the Caledonian Canal Visitor Centre. With all-year-round facilities, you can access it whatever the time of year you visit Loch Ness. Here everything is thought of. Find information guides, peruse a lovely gift shop, enjoy delicious homemade Scottish produce in their cafe and book adventures. Sitting by the canal at Canal Side, Fort Augustus, this is a great stop for all visitors and locals. Open from 9am- 6pm, 7-days a week there is no excuse to not pop in.

And, being a visitor centre it has been set up to provide a wealth of information on the local heritage and famous local features of the Great Glen, Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness. As a result, giving you a great background on many of the well-known sites, their history and heritage that you may see on your travels. This makes for a much more meaningful and interesting visit when you know a bit more about the places you visit.
